One seat left…

for the most amazing pet photography workshop in the country! As much as we hate to brag, we really think we’ve got a great mix of business, marketing and shooting. And Sept 29th will be here before you know it!

We’re putting the final touches on our list of dog models and it looks like we’re going to be super busy setting up lots of cool shots in a wide variety of locations.

Will you be the one to snag the last seat???

Why Unleashed? | Join us Sept 29 – Oct 1, 2012

When Unleashed began in 2009 there weren’t many options for learning fine art pet photography. What was obvious was the lack of professionalism and the real need for in-depth training for pet photographers.  We continue to have the most thorough, in-depth business training of any pet photography workshop available –and we have two instructors with very different styles and approaches. So some of you may lean in one direction or the other, but beware… keeping an open mind and learning a different approach may just be what sets you apart from your competition!

Bev Hollis is known all over the country for her gorgeous outdoor dog portraits and dreamy, dramatic lighting. She was recently featured in  Country Woman magazine and her dog portraits have been published in the Workman calendars, Nova Dog magazine and are on display in many private collections. Her studio in the Washington DC area consistently racks up big sales for high profile clients.

Teresa Berg is known nationally for her studio work and warm, crisp, detailed images of dogs and their people. She was recently profiled by Steve Hartman for CBS Sunday Morning, has done live interviews on Martha Stewart Living radio and BBC live in London.  She was recently featured in Country Living Magazine, Guideposts and The Today Show online for her work photographing rescue dogs. She’s been published in Bark Magazine, Professional Photographer, Doxie Digest, the Dallas Morning News, the Toronto Star, Indulge and many others.  Teresa’s portraits of pets with their people continue to draw big business for her studio –and the bottom line? It’s profitable!

If you’re going to learn pet photography, why learn to be average?  Why not learn hands on, side by side with these two photographers and create your own distinct blend of art and profitability?

Our Grand Finale | Dog Photography Workshop Chicago

For those of you who are on the fence about attending an Unleashed workshop, we feel that it’s only fair to let you know that this is our last one. In a lot of ways, we have accomplished our mission to raise awareness for pet photography as an art form and a business.

Our workshops have been dedicated in a big way to marketing and business practices. Sure, we’d all rather be playing with our cameras, but anyone (with enough practice) can learn to use a camera. Where do you learn to run a dog photography business? Which shots are the ones that sell?  How do you set your prices? And so that’s why we spend 50% of the workshop on business and 50% on shooting.

And it must be working –look at the terrific group of Unleashed graduates who have been successful in almost every corner of this country (and Canada). We are very proud! So if you’ve been putting off your decision, now is the time. As of this date, we have 6 spaces left. We really hope you’ll join us.

SIDE NOTE: We reserve the right to possibly hold ‘graduate school’ for past attendees, and maybe some portfolio shooting weekend retreats. So if you’re a past Unleashed attendee, keep checking back for fun stuff.

We’re wagging our tails, here….

We’re wagging our tails at some of the comments from the recent Unleashed attendees survey…. see for yourself:

“I can’t believe how great this workshop was! I was really looking forward to it but WOW you guys blew me away!”

“The topics covered were a good mix of both the business side and the photography side. The timing for the topics was just right. We didn’t spend too much time on just one topic and the information presented covered the key points needed to know.”

“You covered all the bases I was expecting. It was a nice mix of talks, outdoor shooting, indoor shooting, and sales. Portfolio Day was incredible!”

“The workshop was much more than I had hoped for. Totally worth every dollar paid. I wish that I had stayed for the portfolio day so that I could have had additional time to practice techniques learned.”

“I don’t believe there was one question that any student asked that any of you couldn’t answer. So yes you were all extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I also thought it was nice when we had breafast in the morning so can have some informal educational chats.”

“It was perfect. I liked the long days. I was happy to learn and learn and learn! I liked the way everything was well organized. Good job, it must have been A LOT of work for you!!!”

“I appreciated that the workshop was limited in the number of participants. It allowed us to get to know each other … students and instructors. It also gave us the opportunity to ask specific questions in our breakouts and have good discussions. Even when we we were all together as a group, the group was small enough to ask specific questions, and we all knew each other well enough that we were comfortable doing so.

Thanks for amazing experience. You guys set the bar very high for future workshops!”

“I absolutely loved this workshop, and I don’t have anything I would have changed! I want to do it again already! I met great people, and I learned so much valuable information. Thank you so much. It’s the best workshop I’ve been to!”

100% of the attendees surveyed said that our workshop either “exceeded their expectations” or was “more than I expected” so in our book — that’s a good report card!

What about the future? We have tenative plans to repeat Unleashed in the early summer of 2011 in Virginia. If we can firm this up, it will likely be our LAST UNLEASHED WORKSHOP.  As much as we love teaching, we all have businesses to run!  The farm, the barn studio, the rolling hills and horse farms —it’s just all too beautiful to not go back one last time.

Want to join us? Email us via the contact page of this blog and we’ll put you on our announcement list. You’ll be the first to know when we’ve got a date locked in.

And for those of you UNLEASHED GRADUATES, stay tuned for the next adventure. Portfolio shooting in Napa, anyone???
